New TMAX combines aggressive styling with a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve per cylinder engine for unprecedented performance in and out of town. Incredible torque and effortless handling let you leave the traffic behind.
Wraparound fairing and an adjustable aerodynamic windshield offer all-weather protection, and front and back disc brakes – inherited from Supersport bikes – rapidly bring you to a stop. The ABS model offers even more braking confidence in the wet.
Next evolution looks
Newly refined bodywork gives the TMAX its most aggressive, dynamic look yet, while retaining the classic TMAX feel. From the distinctive double headlights, now enhanced by new accent lines, to a upwards-swooping LED tail assembly, every detail suggests aggressive, refined mechanical excellence.
High-torque performance
A liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 4-valve 530cc engine has been redesigned and rebuilt with a host of lighter, more efficient components. The result is new levels of incredibly strong torque in the low to mid-speed ranges, giving you a dramatic boost whenever you accelerate. It's an advantage you'll feel every time the lights go green.
Lightweight aluminium chassis
Built around a strong, lightweight die-cast aluminium frame, the lightest TMAX ever delivers agile, low-speed manoeuvrability, and impressive stability at high speeds. The engine – just like a motorcycle – is rigidly mounted inside the frame, providing a low center of gravity and optimising handling.
Large wheels
With power you need control. The TMAX is equipped with large, stable 15inch wheels, featuring a new, lightweight 5-spoke design. Stopping power is provided by motorcycle-style dual hydraulic 267 mm front disc brakes and a 282 mm rear hydraulic disc brake. An ABS version is also available.
All-new belt drive
A new belt drive is constructed from lightweight, durable aramid fibre. With next-to-no play in the belt, it allows power to be delivered in an extremely linear fashion, connecting the throttle more closely to the engine. This results in bringing you into closer contact with the scooter too – for a more motorcycle-style riding experience.
Responsive handling
The TMAX's suspension lifts both handling and comfort to new levels, providing excellent cornering, stability and overall feel. The cushioned ride provided by the strong rear shock is complemented by motorcycle-style telescopic front forks: highly resistant to twisting, they keep the front wheel tracking straight and true in various road conditions.
Prestige styling
While a modern, backlit instrument panel provides all key ride information at a glance, two distinctive polygon-shaped analogue counters make striking new additions. Lighting the way, Yamaha's trademark 'twin eye' projector headlights are more compact and more efficient, while a new LED tail lamp is taken straight from Yamaha's flagship Supersport bikes.
Luxurious comfort
The TMAX is designed to make journeys as comfortable as possible. The aerodynamic bodywork offers great weather protection, while the sporty seat provides an ideal riding position, plus the flexibility to move. Passenger grab rails and fold-out footrests make long rides a joy for two, while underseat storage and two gloveboxes allow for plenty of cargo.
